Weekend of February 17+18

STUDENTS: Two summer travel opportunities you won’t want to miss

We still have sevral months of the school year remaining, but we have two important discipleship opportunities this summer for your middle school and high school students. Middle schoolers are headed to Camp Getaway, June 9-14, for the biggest event of their year. High schoolers are going to the Challenge Conference in Kansas City, July 1-6. Both of these events provide opportunities for big fun, spiritual growth, worship, and deepening friendships. Details and registration for both of these events can be found here. Questions? Email Kyler Albert with questions about Camp Getaway. Email Henry Michael with questions about Challenge.

Lent at Five Oaks: Bring God back to the center
Do you ever feel as though life gets a bit busier each day? Sometimes, the day’s tasks fill our time before we make room for God and Scripture. This upside-down template may seem fulfilling for a while, as the busier we are, the less relevant God seems sometimes. Lent is a time for reflection and renewal. If you’d like to flip the script and get God back to the center, join us in exploring the essential doctrines of the Christian faith that Jesus taught in his seven last words. We’ll equip you with the foundational teachings of our faith and reasons why it matters to walk with God every day. We meet on Thursday evenings during Lent at 7 pm, now through Easter. Childcare provided. Questions? Email Tom Vang.

Helping you prepare for important faith milestones
Our next Faith Milestone Celebration is coming up in mid-April. To prepare for that weekend, we’d like to partner with your family to help prepare your children or students who are ready for baptism, and parents who are ready for dedication. Join us on February 25 for these classes: Dedication class at 9 am; Baptism/Communion at 10:45 am. Interested? Email Kelly Bauman to sign up.

Join us to pray for mission partners next weekend
Every month we gather to pray for our impact partners across the world. Join us next Sunday, February 25, from 10:15-10:45 am in Room 102. We’ll pray over specific requests sent from our local and global missionaries and mission partners. Not only is the power of prayer important, but also this is a great way to help make our mission partners real to us by partnering with them in prayer. Questions? Email Dave Baar, impact@fiveoakschurch.org.

Adults: Are you interested in getting baptized?
Baptism is an important faith milestone for adults as well as kids. Adults, if you’re considering being baptized, join us for our baptism class on March 10 at 10:45 am in room 102. You will know everything you need to know about baptism and get a framework for how to prepare your story. We would be so excited to walk alongside you in your faith journey! Email Jonathan Haage to sign up.

Ladies: Short on time but want to grow spiritually?

We know life is busy. With all of the things that demand your time as women – kids, career, managing the family and home, aging parents, etc. – it’s a wonder we have time for a shower or a moment in scripture some days. If you’d like to learn more about how your faith can be applied in a practical, straightforward way, join us for our four-week pop-up Bible study starting February 21 at Five Oaks. We’ll study the book of Philippians and learn how the apostle Paul navigated some of life’s painful challenges. You can look forward to opportunities to ask questions and have discussions, minimal homework, and the chance to connect with other women. Details and registration available here.
