Fifth grade event: Try to escape it!
All fifth graders and their friends are invited to our Escape Room at Five Oaks on March 1 at 6:30 pm. This Escape Room will be themed around the parables of Jesus, and once the kids solve it, we’ll have some additional fun planned. This is a great way to meet other fifth graders who attend at different times than your family does and a great way to get kids ready for youth group next year. Register here. Questions? Email Dan Eggum.

Students are breaking for, well, spring break
We’re taking a break for spring break this week – so no youth group on March 6.  We’re looking forward to seeing your middle and high schoolers again on March 13 with a joint middle school and high school worship night led by the Wood Lake Camp worship team.

Lent at Five Oaks: Bring God back to the center
Do you ever feel as though life gets a bit busier each day? Sometimes, the day’s tasks fill our time before we make room for God and Scripture. This upside-down template may seem fulfilling for a while, as the busier we are, the less relevant God seems sometimes. Lent is a time for reflection and renewal. If you’d like to flip the script and get God back to the center, join us in exploring the essential doctrines of the Christian faith that Jesus taught in his seven last words. We’ll equip you with the foundational teachings of our faith and reasons why it matters to walk with God every day. We meet on Thursday evenings during Lent at 7 pm, now through Easter. Childcare provided. Questions? Email Tom Vang.

Adults: Are you interested in getting baptized?
Baptism is an important faith milestone for adults as well as kids. Adults, if you’re considering being baptized, join us for our baptism class on March 10 at 10:45 am in room 102. You will know everything you need to know about baptism and get a framework for how to prepare your story. We would be so excited to walk alongside you in your faith journey! Email Jonathan Haage to sign up.

Join our mission (membership)
Membership is important at Five Oaks. It’s a way of saying, “I want to be part of the mission of this local church.” If you have a personal relationship with Christ and you have completed the Story of God class, we would love to have you join us for our membership class on Sunday, March 10, at 9 am. Details and registration here.

Join us for Family Fun Night!
Looking for a fun way to connect with your family and others at Five Oaks? Join us on Friday, March 22, 6:30-8:30 pm at Five Oaks. You can look forward to games (active or not), crafts, and snacks. Come and connect with other families who also have preschool & elementary-aged kids. Details and registration here. Questions? Email Kelly Bauman.

Our vocational missionaries need your prayer
We support our 23 vocational missionary families in many ways, but one of the most powerful ways is prayer. Here are a few ways you can pray for these families: 1) Sign up for Daily Life - each Monday you will receive an email focused on prayer for one of our vocational missionary partners. 2) Join us for our monthly missionary prayer session. 3) Help your small group adopt a vocational missionary partner. To get started on any of these, email Dave Baar, impact@fiveoakschurch.org.

Students: Two summer travel opportunities you won’t want to miss
We still have several months of the school year remaining, but we have two important discipleship opportunities this summer for your middle school and high school students. Middle schoolers are headed to Camp Getaway, June 9-14, for the biggest event of their year. High schoolers are going to the Challenge Conference in Kansas City, July 1-6. Both of these events provide opportunities for big fun, spiritual growth, worship, and deepening friendships. Details and registration for both of these events can be found here. Questions? Email Kyler Albert with questions about Camp Getaway. Email Henry Michael with questions about Challenge.
